╰━━━━━━━━╯
After a friend suffering from a fatal wound wished to be reborn as a flower, Samhain set out to retrieve it to bury with her. In an attempt to grant her dying wish, she learned a bit of necromancy to fit her friend's spirit into the form of the extinct pale orchid, under her care seeing it bloom for the first time in the decades since its extinction. Excuses and a revived bat later she's become addicted to the power she's found, utilizing the spirits of the dead and lost dragons of the forest to once again fill the rainforest with the flora it had before the war.

LORE TITLE?
Samhain followed a rumor into the Black Market to find a specimen that had been dried and pressed between the pages of a book of rare plants. Asking around she quickly found it at a stall dusty and piled high with old volumes, sitting on a shelf near the counter in plain sight as if waiting for her. As she pulled it from its spot ready to wipe the dust from the cover she found it clean and smelling of rose oil. She rested it on the counter, creaking open the spine to find each tree and plant had a bit of dried bark or root sample pressed between thin blue glass, spotting the long missing flower quickly.
“You’ll never see it bloom again without the help of this,” interrupted a faery with eerie black eyes, smiling. They dragged slender claws across a papered package, shredding through to reveal the cover of a book labeled with runes.
She looked up, nervous, “I just meant to find the flower, I don’t mean to work in magic.” She felt she had been lingering too long.
The faery covered the book up again. “If you meant to find a dead flower, all the power to you. But that orchid right there was prized for a reason. The way it shines in the moonlight is like none other, bewitchingly blue in the night and a pale green in the daytime. The harpies are said to have harvested the plant into extinction, as the leaves were known to pull poison from water and blood,” they looked Samhain up and down. “Why is it you need this flower?”
She hesitated for a second before admitting, “A dear friend of mine wished she could be reborn as the water orchid. I just wanted to find a bit of it to bury with her.”
The faery grinned once more, slipping the book back onto the counter. Samhain could see the cover clearly now, spotting the light faded form of a dragon wrapped around a dark brown tree with silver roots. The runes above curved into a language she could read.
“A Transfer of Souls: The Return to Nature,” she whispered. “Only once couldn’t hurt...as long as it’s what someone really...wanted.” After drawing a heavy breath to steel herself she lifted her chin. “What do you want for it?”
The faery’s smirk had widened to reveal a hungry line of teeth sharpened to points, “Just your name, my love. Just your name, and your friend may have her wish.”
