Cindersand Keep
A tall fortress on the coast of the Blacksand Annex, where lava flows into the sea, creating plumes of steam and endless expanses of obsidian beaches. The dark sands have been scorched hot by dragon's breath and melted down to glass, then shaped into towering chambers and spires.
Their walls shimmer, here and there the purest of transparent glass, and in other places the darkest of blacks, polluted by the surrounding rivers of lava feeding the the voracious and turbulent waves bordering the keep. The obsidian that taints the glass fortifies it, thus the closer one is to the foundations, the darker the walls become.
Though well defended, the land is barren and inhospitable. Only those with nowhere else to go settle in these halls.
City of Ekarath
Located near the Great Furnace, The Gold Chasm is a deep rift rich in ores that reaches the hot, magmatic depths of the world. The City of Ekarath is embedded in its walls, built in vast tunnels that have been carved into both the rock and the veins of gold that lace through it alike. Glimmering golden bridges cross the expanse of the chasm to make easy travel from one side to the other.
At the very bottom lies the bloated forge, heaving smoke night and day like some great slumbering beast. There, using the scorching blood of the earth to shape their wares, the smiths of Ekarath craft weapons, tools and jewelry of the finest quality.
