up above those steep cliffs - oh, how ancient and young joints ache from the climb - where the hills are grassy and life is fruitful winds the path of the wind kin.

when the journey seems at end and all at peace, there lies the false summit: the zephyr steppes a plateau before the challenging reedcleft ascent. when the journey seems impossible to fatigued bones and strangers to the land - will we really make it up all of that?

yet do not fret, tired little ones, for if you gaze just above your heads there rests a small alcove. the gentle sound of a harmonica, the playful trills of wind chimes, and the joyous ringing of tambourines drifts out of the opening, beckoning the weary and tired of soul - oh mom, can we go rest in there for a little bit? please?

the deep timber of a mirror offers solace from the climb, four jade eyes glittering with understanding as claws open in invitation. will you accept?

have you heard of a famous mountaineer named joffre? no? well, that's not surprising because i'm not famous yet, but one day i'd like to be. an avid hiker, mountain biker, skier, and climber, my dream is to one day inspire people to step outside and explore the natural world around them and find joy in the simple things.

an old growth tree in the middle of a new growth forest. a mountain peak that has resisted the erosion and weathering of time. a valley carved out by a glacier. snow covering land that is warm enough in the summer to start forest fires. these are all little things that blow my mind on a daily basis.

so what am i doing until i have the reach to impact others? i'm in my second year of a geology major and work as a trail guide for local parks. as someone who considers themselves an adventurer at heart, of course i chose wind as my flight.
