Thunderhail Empire
A small empire located at the very edge of The Southern Icefield. With 2/3 encased in solid Ice, and only the very basic necessities out in the open, the empire benefits from natural protection. Many diplomats coming from warmer climates do tend to require several thick furs, and try to make their stay as short as possible. If the residents of the clan do happen to celebrate a hasty retreat of a visitor, it is not too obviously displayed.
''Named after a bizarre weather phenomenon that appears rarely in some regions of the Icefield. The phenomenon is characterised usually by the mix of a hail storm with electrical discharges. Exhibiting black clouds and loud thunder in the beginning, the storm escalates in violent electrically charged hail. As the hail hits the ground it produces violent static explosions that can be dangerous to even the larger breeds of dragons depending on the hail size.''

Inhabitants
The clan is populated by a small but varied array of dragons which have either been rescued as eggs from beast clans and further born into the empire, or wanderers which have gained the permission to settle within. The clan members appear to hold all kinds of professions but all maintain the same inflexible politeness towards interaction with outsiders.
''True to their Flight heritage, the empire deals with strangers with rigid caution. Survival of the strongest is the basic rule in the frozen wasteland and being outnumbered and fairly weak, doesn't forecast good news for the citizens of Thunderhail. Mercy shattered by the hardships they face, the Frozen Crown is bloody, and The Empire wary.''

Structure
''It appears that the Empire holds a somewhat conflicting attitude to foreign activities. While it engages openly in trading and training, right of passage within the empire's grounds is severely limited. The foreign relations with other dragon clans remain stable, but unless given special permission, the inner areas of the clan are strictly prohibited. All mercantile or diplomatic activities must happen outside the inner wall. ''
