Fashion Theme Week: Wildclaws!
Cho's Clan
Merry Band of Misfits
Clan Info
Hidden away and lovingly carved into the interior of a mountain, Home remains located within the Cairnstone Rest. Despite the honor of being granted a place within the Pillar of the World, the prospect of just up and abandoning a location that they all had come to care for a great deal didn’t sit well with the majority of the Clan, so they remained with the blessing of the Earthshaker.
The main ground entrance to the lair is well hidden, so much so that it is all but invisible to anyone who isn’t led directly to it. Living in Dragonhome has never been particularly safe after all. A crag shadows the opening at all hours of the day and night, the stone carefully carved to conceal the inner passageway. The passage is dark and long, large enough for just about any dragon but claustrophobic. The stone becomes smooth and even within a few lengths from the entrance. Carvings appear along the walls, names, stories, pictures. But they’re crude, and appear to be nearly worn away.
Light begins to filter in, breaking the long dark. Sacridite crystals, carefully seeded into the walls fill the chamber with a soft light which shines off of veins of quartz and gold.
The narrow route opens suddenly, the light of the crystals intensifying and infusing with sunlight within the massive cavern that now soars above your head and tapers upwards towards a large fissure in the ceiling above. Nearly every surface is covered with some sort of carving, but these were crisp, clean and told intricate tales of peace, war, love and sorrow. With surprise you realize that this enormous space is most certainly the work of dragonclaw alone and you marvel at the sheer amount of time it must have taken these dragons to create their home. The sheer size is tremendous, even the largest imperials and guardians have little trouble making short glides through the chamber and smaller dragons, both young and mature can fly freely. There’s life, warmth and water above all things in this hidden place.
You’d heard stories of the ancient and reclusive clan, how they took in any dragon with nowhere else to go, even criminals and murderers. The crazed and depraved were granted sanctuary no matter their crimes. But this place didn’t seem like it was a den of evils. No, the great hall is a bustle of activity; vibrant and muted hides mingle on the ground and fill the air, tiny Nocturnes mingle with the largest of Imperials. Hatchlings roam freely with one or both of their parents keeping watch nearby. Passages veer off from the main hall, small and large alike, but all accessible by ramps cleverly carved into the walls to accommodate the flightless snappers, of which there seem to be many. You can only guess these lead to further common areas or personal quarters, set aside from the hustle and bustle of the main cavern.
Distracted by the noise and colors you nearly run headlong into a cheery looking maize winged coatl as he hurries to greet you.
“Welcome Home, you’re welcome to stay as long as you like!”
He chirps sweetly at you and you stare at him a moment then go to correct him, this isn’t your home, you’re just passing through. But you catch yourself, noticing the glint of warmth in the ancient clan leader’s eye. Well maybe you could call this place Home for a little while.
