The clan was founded after dragons splintered off from a larger group due to conflict within the hierarchy. Klara, a progenitor, left with the intention to commit herself solely to her alchemy research. She settled in to a small dark cave along the cove, and began to build her lab.

After she helped a small band of lost dragons in the Tangled Wood, they formed a deal, returning to work for her gathering materials and building her lab. Over time she grew to trust them, and she became their defacto leader. Nowadays, the cave has been dug into a network of homes and businesses, bustling with dragon recruits of varied importance and duties.
