Time in the Zephyr Steppes
With Avi becoming increasingly absent a new hierarchy emerged within the lair hidden away beneath the Zephyr Steppes. The tiny Rova heads the matriarchy and is respected highly amongst the dragons many times her size. With a heavy emphasis on the arts and science the dragons of Zephyr boast a very liberal structure and value good relations with surrounding lairs, often sending scouts across the many lands of Sornieth.

Deep in the floating mountain there exists a pool of magical qualities; it basks in the moonlight that streams in through the cracks high in the ceiling. The mages and alchemists of the clan draw their knowledge and strength from its reflective surface. Wading in its waters and gazing upon the stars is forbidden as it is believed to be too overwhelming for the uninitiated, unable to process the secrets of the stars. Despite the generally welcoming nature of the clan they go to great lengths to ensure the pool remains hidden from outsiders. Sinai was originally tasked with its protection but now shares the responsibility with her astronomer daughter Duskrune.

The dragons dens are dug into the underside of the steps, jumping from the ledge hatchlings are able to free fall amongst the steps as the shadows of their clanmates pass above them, becoming one with the wind and learning to fly. Many young ones claim to hear the Windsinger and feel the breeze guiding them as they open their wings for the first time.

Time in the Mirrorlight Promenade
As the Twisting Crescendo encroached more and more on the lair the clan was forced to leave their home as the territory was thrust into a time of turmoil. They followed Sinai on her annual pilgrimage and settled amongst the promenade as dragons scrambled to claim a piece for themselves. Dedications to Windsinger are still scattered around the ruins, but were soon joined by a newfound devotion to Lightweaver as thanks for allowing them refuge in her lands.

Older members of the lair lounge in the warmth of the roofs of the ruins watching as youngsters chase one another down the old alleyways, the pitter-patter of their feet on the worn stone paths echoing along them. From atop the pillars Lightweaver can be seen on her tower looking out to sea, bathing the promenade in a warm light even after sunset.

During celebrations the clan lights up the skies with fireworks and hang wind chimes from their tails as they run and dance, combining the love for their two deities.

On the solstices hatchlings travel with Quilpie to their old home to sit by the undisturbed waters of the pool as the Crescendo roars outside the protective walls of the cave. They undergo an old ritual that ushers them into adulthood and collect a few drops of the enchanted water in jewellery that they will wear and cherish for the rest of their time in the clan. When held in the setting sun of the Promenade the water sparkles like nothing else, seeming to contain multitudes. The clan wears the stars themselves around their necks and turn to them when in need of guidance.

Time in the Emperor's Wake
Slowly the Mirrorlight Promenade began to feel claustrophobic as more dragons in search of knowledge began to permanently occupy the ruins. The clan was annoyed but willing to grit their teeth and bare it until the emergence of the first Emperor in a millennia forced their hand. Scouting parties were sent to follow the Emperor from a considerable distance to report back with information on it's movements as it's closeness to the ruins was deeply troubling.

The scouting party made the observation that the Emperor roamed the fields widely but did not approach the far side of the Reach below the cliff face and beaches that bordered the Water flight. The land was untouched and hidden from the view of the multiheaded beast, so after extensive clan-wide argument the decision was made to move.

The clan made their exit through the eastern end of the ruins as another party watched the Emperor approach from the west, venturing closer than it ever had before, the jagged churned ground in its wake a sobering sight. The clan move swiftly through the tall fronds of dried grass, many staring straight ahead and not daring to make a noise, even hatchlings clinged quietly to their parents, the weight of the silence weighing heavily on them.

For many hours they heard little more than the soft rustle of the grass, the scratchy feeling of it parting on their breastbone and flowing around their legs became a comfort as it offered them the gift of stealth.

Arriving at their destination even those who had been sceptical were deeply relieved by the safety of the beach. A long cliff rose sharply to the east end of the beach and slowly tapered down to the west where a short slope weaved its way around the cliff down to the water's edge offering a sandy and grassed path from the top of the cliff to it's base. Their new home was nestled in a small cove with a stunning view of the Sea of a Thousand Currents, shimmering like a sea of Lightweaver's magic as the sun scattered on the water's surface, reminding them of home. At the far end of the beach the tendrils of Shadow crept through the forest, surrounding them with the presence of many flights and the unknown that comes with them. Though the clan wasn't sure it even knew Light anymore with something so dangerous wandering the grasslands.

The clan settled quickly and the fear of an Emperor attack slowly faded but never disappeared. A wooden shack was built atop the cliff, small and unassuming, but vital to the safety of the clan. It was nestled between trees and rocks and acted as a lookout station to warn the clan of approaching danger.

On the warm sands of the beach below the clan members sprawl in the silky soft sand, sunbathing while others immerse themselves in the cool refreshing waters of the Sea, closing their eyes and diving deep, feeling the weightlessness of the water holding them in a way different but very much the same as flying. They clear their minds and focus on the cool calmness that surrounds them. Many others still enjoy exploring the Tide Pools that mottle the shore at the other end of the beach, many hatchlings learning to swim here.

The clan carved intricate tunnels into the cliff, burrowing so deep the air becomes cold and a breeze that seems impossible in such a cave keeps the air crisp and fresh.
