Divine Guidance
Kamui - the mountain which stands tall at the center of Wild Heights territory - was formed eons ago by the Earthshaker himself. Bits of remaining stardust from The First Age slipped between the craig's fissures, taking hold, and as dragons warred the essences of demigods formed. They did not make immediate appearances, however; it was not until a new race was born that they awoke from their slumber.

By then, Sornieth was teeming with life and lush once more, especially in the glade of the gods. Each new discovery of flora and fauna sent the spirits into a tizzy - it didn't take long for them to become completely enamored with the surrounding wilderness. In fact, they wavered over the line of being enamored and possessive, and when a small tribe of this new race attempted to settle and threatened to harm their slice of paradise, the demigods grew angry.

Much to their surprise and soon delight, the group was fairly nomadic and stuck to traditions of old times past, preferring the knowledge of their ancestors over progressing with the rest of humankind in their quest for technology. Kamui continued to thrive under their care, and soon, the Oina became just as precious to the gods as anything else - the spirits had even begun adapting physical forms to interact with them, eager to learn about their culture.

Unfortunately all good things must come to an end. When The Arcanist was born, the demigods were completely shaken - all they had come to love was lost to the void. Many spirits ceased to exist after the shock, and those remaining receded back into the mountain, encasing themselves as they mourned. Neither the return of The Shade or shattering of The Pillar brought them forth. By the time their tendrils cautiously reached out to see what the world had become, drakes and beasts roamed freely.

It took ages for the demigods to accept this, but upon seeing hope within another new society, they began to draw forth those that reminded them of a treasured past, pulling creatures of all kinds into their vicinity. Once here, dragons who arrive rarely leave - some even taking the forms of different species altogether. Even though the gods and goddesses still withhold teachings and titles given to them by their precious Oina, they find themselves looking on and protecting a civilization once more, eager to uphold this clan as long as they're able.
