This is the Ximbakuta clan.

Created by the Tundra Flamewreath and his mate Sosaku, Ximbakuta is a clan full of dragons of every species. It is known for its trading ports and wide exploration purposes; as well as it's powerful builders, magic users, and craftsman.

The clan is split into Classes that is dependent on their job. In every class there is a head dragon that oversees all the dragons in the faction. The moment a dragon is of age they are given a job and move into a class. The head dragon will approve who moves into a class.

The clan itself has two main encampments. One part of the clan resides in Spiral Keep, only the most trusted and high ranking dragons are allowed to stay in Spiral Keep. The rest reside on an encampment on the cliff next to the sea. Their purpose is to help surrounding clans and go about business that cannot be done underwater.

Politics

Not long after the clan was first split into classes Flamewreath's mate Sosaku suggested that they form a council to help take weight off his shoulders. Soon a council of seven was formed to take care of the large majority of problems.

Every dragon may bring a problem to the council. The council will hear that dragon's appeal and then discuss what is to be done or even if anything is to be done at all! If the problem can be solved quickly without needing to refer to Flamewreath then they will not bother bringing the problem to him, only contacting him when a decision is made. If not then they might bring him out to oversee the case and hear his input.

The council decides what might be done, but Flamewreath has the final say of what will actually be enacted. If he agrees with a decision it is enacted. If not then the matter is dropped and better left forgotten. If the council feels rather strongly about something he rejects they may call him back for an appeal, where they will negotiate a new plan of action that Flamewreath will either approve or deny. If it is denied twice then it will not be brought up again. The only exception is when what is being discussed may threaten the lives of others. Flamewreath and the council will discuss what to do till they reach a conclusion, and no matter how many times it is denied it will not be dropped till an agreement is met.

Lore and Clan History

Originally the clan was founded with Flamewreath and his first mate Vaina. Not long into the clan’s existence, Vaina ended up leaving Flamewreath to fight in the Flight war and was never heard from again. Flamewreath would soon meet Sosaku who helped to console him, and the two would begin their new lives together working harmoniously to create a Clan they could be proud of.

From the beginning Flamewreath had a dream for what his clan would become. He wanted them to be known far and wide as a bustling trading hub and equally known for their large selection of maps written by reputable explorers. He longed to map the whole of Sornieth in detail but was too busy managing the clan and trying to find dragons to join to do it. Eventually he realized that he himself could not complete this dream, and would have to depend on the help of others to see it come true.

A female Nocturne, named Cloud, would eventually become the clans second-in-command and would assist in helping Flamewreath make decisions. With her fierce determination and unyielding bravery, Cloud would commit herself to any task he gave her. It was she who first delivered the news to Flamewreath that the Tidelord had gone missing. She had been stationed at the Cliffside encampment to calm a dispute when messengers from multiple clans came to tell her the same news; The Tidelord was gone.

Once the Tidelord had gone missing, Flamewreath focused less on growing his clan and instead focused more on preparing his clan for the worst. Without their protecting deity, they would need to find other ways to protect themselves. Cloud and the Guards worked hard on teaching all the clan members how to fight, and Flamewreath turned his attention to finding ambassadors that would be able to communicate with other clans for help. He figured if the Tidelord couldn’t protect them from the other flights, he had better form some alliances with clans from the other flights.

The Clan was split into classes to become more manageable and it was decreed that every dragon must pull their own weight. If they were to become full citizens of the Clan they would need to be in a class. Those too young would wait til they were full grown before they could hope to join a class. The only exception to this rule was Alexandrite, a Jewelry box fae that seemed to not have natural dragon intelligence.

They have made the cliffside encampment much harder to reach, and have appointed Guides whose sole purpose is to guide those who wish to come to the encampment or even just to help navigate lost dragons through the Sea of a Thousand Currents while keeping a close eye on them.

Flamewreath is determined to not let his clan fall, they will not need their Deity’s protection to survive. By losing the Tidelord, they have made themselves stronger. They still hope for the Tidelord’s return however, as they cannot hope to fight off a large attack from multiple flights. As such, have become more wary of strangers and won’t let just anyone into their encampment.
