“Wanderer…”

A voice beckons you from underneath one of the brilliant trees of the Starwood Strand, a floating whisper among a sea of stars. No matter the reason that brought you here, curiosity has grabbed your attention and your only thoughts rest on that voice, almost as if you have been put under a spell. Just as your thoughts touch on that possibility a new set of lights catch your attention.

“Welcome.”

From your right, where you had just seen the strange lights before, a Coatl cloaked in silks and surrounded by floating lanterns steps out of a shadow that was not there before. The voice is soft, soothing, relaxing you from the tensions the Coatl’s sudden appearance brought. You try to speak but cannot, as if this were some kind of dream, one question forms in your mind, who are you?

“I am the Seer. The other beside you is named Heimyll.”

You were not aware of the Spiral coiled around the thickest tree to your left until the odd Coatl pointed him out to you. The one called Heimyll bowed low, extending an open hand decorated in mist and stars as brilliant as those in the trees, “Stay calm friend. You are under a dangerous spell. We are here to guide ones like you through this enchantment so that you do not end up as one of the Dread-one’s Tributes.”

In the Spiral’s hand you notice that the mist and stars shimmer briefly and then dissipate to reveal a spyglass enchanted with the same mist that hugs the Spiral’s coiled body. You know deep within your soul that he is telling you the truth but still you hesitate the sweet voice you had first heard still clouding your mind and making this choice difficult…

Welcome to a clan split into factions each with designs on control and absolute dominance. There was a time when this Clan had been peaceful, ruled over by an odd yet fair Fae called Lokir. But temptation had been his downfall. Loki’rs vision, his calling had been to unite the children of all the great deities, to have a clan beyond all interpretation of loyalty and faith. For a time, he succeeded, he found an interpreter of his signs and gestures in a Nocturne called Morri, guardians and fellow thinkers of all faiths soon flocked to him. Lokir’s vision was at last becoming a reality. But his vision attracted the selfish as well, and even though many kept their designs to small groups one Plague witch dared to approach the founder himself. Eira was one of the first Fae dragons to join the clan outside of Lokir’s children and was the first to pollute it as well.

Her designs were for power, to corrupt Lokir’s peace into a vehicle for her path to absolution. So she appealed to Lokir in a vile way, tempting him away from his mate and began a line of children that would share both the founder’s blood and her own. This was the spell she needed to corrupt Lokir’s vision, and for a time she did.

Lokir began to become less social, often waving off Morri in favor of Eira’s whispers and embrace. But the clan did not begin to crumble until the day Lokir saw fit to send his first mate, Elysia, to exaltation at the urging or Eira. It became obvious to all that there was foul magic at work on the founder. For many it was a time of fear, but for some it was a chance for opportunity.

Draugalega and her brother Verndari took their chance in the uncertainty caused by Eira’s spells, they began to sway over other dragons within the lair, that Lokir no longer deserved to be their leader, he was weak and growing weaker. Fear became the sibling’s ally and they quickly formed a faction that toppled Lokir and sent all those allied with him into disgrace. But the sibling’s faction was far from peaceful, instead they believe that death is a tool and although they say they are sending many souls to exaltation they are merely sacrifices empowering the dread matriarch, Draugalega. Where her machinations might lead the clan are uncertain, but there is one thing that she makes clear for all to see, the clan will be hers and she will not stop until it is.

You find yourself unable to move once more, caught in between the strange lights floating off the Spiral and the lanterns of the Coatl and the voice calling for you somewhere deep in the mist. One of the many floating cards around Heimyll float into the hand of the Seer, its surface blank, although you notice that there is a picture forming on it the longer it rests in the Seer’s hands.

“We cannot influence this one.”

“So fate is unwritten?”

“No, simply undecided…”

The moment the last syllable left the Coatl’s maw both dragons beside you disappear, but the offered spyglass and the tarot card fall with a dull thud into the soft forest bed beneath your feet. But their presence still lingers at the back of your mind.

“The choice will always be your own, traveler, enter this lair with the protection of sight or enter with the honeyed words of the matriarch.”

“Find us if you can.”

“Or be mourned by us.”

Welcome to my humble clan! You may notice somethings shift around in the coming weeks as I am preparing to purge my lair of some dragons that may do better as fodder or in better homes. One thing you will also notice is a surprise influx of graphics! I will be opening up my lore inspired tarot readings by the end of the year, so expect some...branding.

I will also be moving the bulk of my Lore ( mostly the welcoming bit that used to be in my clan info ) into a Lore thread ( which when it is up and running the link will be here! )
