Once upon a time the dragon gods lived in harmony. The eleven mighty siblings lived off of and shared the land out of love and respect for one another. That was until the dragons started to mature and develop, each gaining power of a different element. The eldest sister, Gladekeeper, was a goddess of nature. Her eyes turned a bright green color and all eggs hatched by her carried the trait. As she grew older and stronger she became more in tune with her element and the powers it gave her. The land became dense with forest and tangled vegetation. Her offspring began to help spread the seed in an effort to blanket the world with life. Her siblings soon began hatching eggs of their own, each gaining the eye color of their element. That is when her brothers and sisters began to notice a difference in their abilities. Generations of her offspring continued to carry on the green eyed trait no matter what elemental deity they originated from. All was not the same for the other gods. Every single generation of their dragons also came out with those bright green eyes and the ability to spread the seed of life. For now they just accepted things as they were. Until Plaguebringer discovered her powers.

Plaguebringer grew to be an unsightly goddess with deep red eyes. As her sister spread the seed of life, she followed spreading decay. Unintentionally, of course. Plants died beneath her feet and her insatiable hunger left parts of the land barren and lifeless. The Gladekeeper and the other siblings seen this as a huge threat and feared the Plaguebringer alone was enough to destroy all life on the planet. In an effort to protect all the Gladekeeper had started, they exalted their sister to a desolate and uninhabited part of the world. She was cast away with the few offspring of her first generation. The Gladekeeper wanted no red eyed dragons on her land. The red eyed dragons were given the name Plague. All marked with a scarlet letter marking them as contagious bacterial disease spreaders. Their land was called the Scarred Wasteland; the virulent fields of decay, infected by the Plaguebringer and her spawn. After many generations, the other siblings began to split apart and move away from the Gladekeeper. They began working on their own kingdoms and armies. Each was to ensure that the other elemental deities would stay in line and not cause any trouble. Everything was going perfectly until the gods seen how quickly the contagious disease of the Plaguebringer was spreading.

The Plaguebringer and her first generation of offspring produced eggs at an accelerated rate. The center of her land; The Wyrmwound, is a veritable cauldron of disease, churned by the Plaguebringer herself, to design and release experimental strains of never-ending calamity. The rot and viruses spread through the landscape in a sick spiral of death and decay. The rotting, poisonous lands stretches outward, miles past the line the Plague dragons dare not cross. The plague this goddess spread caused a war between her and her eldest sister, the Gladekeeper.

The roots of the Scarred Wasteland are laden with brutal enslavement and malevolent retribution. The Gladekeeper and her army of nature dragons charged trough the Plaguebringer’s land, killing and kidnapping all dragons that crossed their path. Babies were taken and trained in camps; brainwashed into believing the Gladekeeper’s integrity and morality. These dragons were later used as slaves for the Gladekeeper and those who fought in her army. They were forced to fight against their own kind. The babies who were not successes after training were exalted in the name of the Gladekeeper. Adult dragons who were already showing signs of their elemental power were exalted right away.

One family in particular was hunted down by the Gladekeeper’s army. This family served directly under the Plaguebringer. Their loyalty earned them great power, much more than the other dragons in the clan. This power made them a great threat and almost no one knew of their physical appearance. They lived in the center of the Wyrmwound with their goddess to try and ensure their safety. After years of war the Gladekeeper’s army moved in on the Wyrmwound threatening the safety of the Plaguebringer and her loyal companions.

A small, feisty and ruthless dragon indeed. Anode is part of a trio that were separated at birth. She knows almost nothing of her family. Only that her parents were sacrificed to the Gladekeeper in the ruthless war between her god, the Plaguebringer and the Gladekeeper. It is believed by other lairs that her family was sacrificed due to their dark abilities. Her mother accidentally presented her sorceress’s magic to the army of the Gladekeeper in a desperate attempt to protect her children. Her and her husband, Coel were immediately exalted while a group of kidnappers rounded up their babies. Anode left fearful and orphaned escaped their grasp in a puff of fiery magic that conjured a small group of undead plague souls and became known as the Sorceress of Summoning.

Anode managed to escape and find refuge in the Abiding Boneyard. An arid and growing wasteland that makes up most of the Scarred Wastelands. The boneyard is deadly land; completely lifeless with only an occasional Tinder Bug or Rainbow Grasshopper to feed on. With the loyal servants of the Plaguebringer dead, the Gladekeeper’s minions finally began to move out of the Wastelands and Anode began her journey to build a new clan. She took in the few lost and wandering souls of the Abiding Boneyard and accepted anyone who promised their loyalty to her and the Plaguebringer.
