Oathfinder's Clan

Path's End is a warm and welcoming riverside clan. The dragons here are generally kind to travelers, and most are more than glad to aid them. Though Surana is respected as the founder of the clan, it is now lead by a council with representatives of all Flights. The clan takes a neutral stance in the warring that occurs through the land, and has even made peace with nearby Longneck tribes.



All is not as calm and idyllic as it seems, however. There is a growing sect of criminals gathering in the Hewn City outskirts to the south. A den of thieves, intent on moving out of their Shade-touched ruins and into the plentiful lands of the clan. For now the Imperials and Widlclaws that call Path's End home are more than capable of warding off the threat, but things cannot continue this way forever.

The cliffs that form a waterfall and serve as the division between Water and Light controlled lands are inhabited by Harpies, which treat both Path's End and Hewn City dragons as a threat. Though Surana urges her clanmates to leave them be, some of the dragons under her watch harbor a bitterness toward the Harpy flocks, and will actively hunt them. Collected warrior masks from slain Harpies are considered a mark of valor to some, and a shameful display of wanton violence to others.

Across the river to the south live herds of Longnecks. Though some are wary of the presence of so many dragons so nearby, there is a longstanding peace between the Longnecks and the Path's End clan. Allayna and her Longneck companion serve as diplomats between the groups, the Fae's small size rendering her far less intimidating than the gargantuan Surana. The outlaws hiding in the Hewn City, however, are not so kind. They regularly attempt raids on the Longneck camps, which has prompted some of the Path's End warriors to set up camp among their Beatclan allies in order to protect them.

The Path's End clan is unfortunately situated in a large forest that is known Serthis territory. In the early days of the clan, these enemies were a major threat. These days they show themselves less and less often, however, and seem to have decided that the losses suffered at the claws of such a large and well-defended clan are not worth the territory they would hope to reclaim. Every decade or so one of the weaker or gentler Serthis outcasts, banished by their own people, will wander into the clan's territory. Though many of the warriors of the clan still bitterly remember the sting of Serthis venom and poisons, Surana is quick to welcome them as friends, so long as they cause no trouble. Merebi and Branth are strong proponents of this policy, having been abandoned as hatchlings and raised by a lone Serthis who took pity on them. Unfortunately, the large majority of the Serthis population is still incredibly hostile towards the dragons of Path's End, and some have formed an alliance with the Hewn City outlaws in the hopes that their combined strength will be greater than the clan's.
