[This clan description, as well as a few other dragon bios, were written around nine years ago! I keep it because I'm sentimental.]
Exploring deep within the Gladeveins, you come across a certain network of hollowed trees and caves. Large, carved logs mark the boundaries of this village, and the greenest of ivy covers the entrances of these homes. A pen of sturdy woven vines provides shelter for familiars without a dragon to call their partner.
The largest pond lies within the center of the arrangement, which also contains the tallest tree, extending its long web of slender roots into the depths of the water. Swimming across to visit the mangrove tree, you find that the huge platform of roots, covered in dirt and moss is thick and dense enough to support any dragon. The opening to the tree is elaborately decorated with blossoms and carved with intricate designs.
Walking into the cavernous trunk yields a view of what is clearly the abode of the clan's leader. A ramp is cut into the cylindrical space, spiraling up to the top, as well as shelves containing the bulk of a dragon hoard, with ores, raw materials, and food organized neatly in jars and baskets. If you were to ascend this ramp, you would pass through the ceiling to a small library and study. Sections of the thick walls are inset with stained glass of green, blue, and purple, letting natural light in, but a mass of bulbous roots makes a chandelier growing on the ceiling, which glows at night.
A forest green shape flutters down from an opening in the ceiling to settle on one of the shelves closest to your head. It is a tiny Fae, adorned with feathers and birdskulls. Her pale green and deep purple frills shift as she turns her emerald gaze to you.
''Welcome to our clan, traveler.
Here live the members of the Smaragdine Menagerie.''
